Series & Event Description:
The Sun Run is the first event in a two-event summer series (the Sizzlin’ Series), with each event visiting a separate segment of the River Torrens Linear Pathway. The first event, the Sun Run, uses the section of the Linear Pathway north of the city, in the City of Norwood, Payneham, and St Peters. The second event, the City Run (6 Feb 2022), follows the Linear Pathway in the city, using the Weir Loop.
Participants who complete distances in both events are eligible to purchase a Series medal ($11).
Course Description & Map:
The Sun Run showcases a course in the City of Norwood, Payneham, & St Peters. The course is a 7.5km loop along the river, a quiet scene in shady forestry. All distances less than 7.5km will do a shortened loop and all distances more than 7.5km will do multiple loops.
Aid Station & Bag Drop:
There is an aid station which is passed twice in the 7.5km loop – once at the start of the loop and once 2km into the loop. Distances involving more than one loop will pass the aid station every 2km and 7.5km out of 7.5km. A bag drop is available at the aid station.
Bib Collection, Race Briefing, & Start Location:
Bib collection is exclusively available on the day, starting 30 minutes prior to the wave’s start time. The race briefing will begin promptly 15 minutes prior to each wave’s start time. All participants will be expected to socially distance during the briefing, at the start line, and on course.
A two hour early start will be available to those who arrange it during registration.
|21.1km (Half Marathon)||8:30am|
All events will be cut-off at 6pm.
An optional medal is available for free to anyone running 21.1km or above and $11 to anyone running a shorter distance. Personalised medal inscriptions (with name, messages, and/or finish time) are available for an extra $5-$12 — $5 for name, $8 for name & personalised message (under 25 characters), and $12 for name & finish time (includes postage). Series medals are available for purchase for $11; anyone who completes both events in the series is eligible for a series medal.
